Privacy: what we store
Droplit only stores what it needs for your account and your work. Your SoundSwitch projects and your music stay on your computer.
Good to know
- On your computer: The designer runs in your browser. It only reads and writes in the folder you share. Projects and music aren't uploaded, and the song analysis also runs in the browser.
- Account data: email address, your name if you gave one, the password only as a secure hash, the time you signed up and last signed in.
- Work data: saved shows, rig profiles, custom effects, 3D setups, presets, fixture profiles and personal settings such as the language. They're stored in your account so they're available on every computer.
- Feedback: When you send a bug, an idea or a question via “Help”, we store the text, the email address, an attached screenshot and, unless you untick it, the technical details.
- Manuals: When you upload a manual for a fixture profile, we receive the file so we can build a profile from it.
- Ratings: We only count your answer to “Did this help?” per guide, without any link to you.
- Abuse protection: For sign-in, sign-up, password resets and feedback we store a non-reversible hash of your IP address for at most 24 hours.
- Usage statistics: Only if you agree after signing in, we store which pages, views and features you use, how long you are active, how fast processing steps run, error messages of the page and search terms in the help – without your IP address and without third-party services. Without signing in we only count page views, with no link to you. To turn it off: the “Usage statistics” switch on your overview or on your account page.
- Cookies: After you sign in, the page sets a technically necessary session cookie (“ssd_sitzung”), and with “Stay signed in” also “ssd_merken”. Visitors without an account get no cookie. There are no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies.
- Core: The Python runtime for the browser comes from the jsDelivr service. jsDelivr gets to know your IP address in the process.
- The data is stored in a database at IONOS in Germany.
