Checking an Autoloop in SoundSwitch
A saved Autoloop sits in SoundSwitch in the bank slot you picked in Droplit. Here is how to find and check it.
Step by step
- Open the copy “… Show-Designer” in SoundSwitch (see Opening the project in SoundSwitch).
- Switch to Edit mode at the top (“Edit”).
- Tap the “A” button at the bottom right. The Autoloop list opens.
- Click the column header of the bank Droplit named when you saved.
- Tap the loop with your show’s name and start it with the Space bar.
- To see the lights in 3D, turn on the Art-Net preview, see Watching SoundSwitch live in the visualizer.
Good to know
- In Edit mode a loop plays at a fixed editor tempo. On the night it follows the tempo of the music.
- On the night you find the loop in Performance mode in the same bank, in the same slot.
- Even tapping a loop can make SoundSwitch save it again. So switch projects in SoundSwitch before you save in Droplit again.
- To see the loop without SoundSwitch, use live mode.
Questions
The loop has a different name in SoundSwitch than in Droplit.
Droplit enters the name when saving. If you changed it in SoundSwitch afterwards, the SoundSwitch name applies.
Can I keep editing the loop in SoundSwitch?
Yes. Droplit then shows the SoundSwitch version the next time you open it.
If something goes wrong
- The bank is empty or the loop is missing: check that you opened the copy. If SoundSwitch had the project open while you saved, it overwrote the loop. Open another project in SoundSwitch and save again in Droplit.
- The lights stay dark: check the venue tab at the top. With several venues, the one with your lights must be selected.
- Droplit shows “Loop “…” (ID …): the file … is missing from the project.”: SoundSwitch renumbered the loop while loading. Check it in SoundSwitch and create it again if needed.
