Checking a song show in SoundSwitch
Droplit writes a song show into the song’s script. In SoundSwitch it plays automatically as soon as you load the song.
Step by step
- Open the copy “… Show-Designer” in SoundSwitch (see Opening the project in SoundSwitch).
- Load the song into the player the way you usually do.
- Play the song. The show plays along automatically.
- In Edit mode you see the show as lanes below the song and can jump to individual spots.
Good to know
- The show belongs to exactly this song in exactly this project. A song you only opened in the original is unknown to the copy.
- While the song plays, its show replaces the Autoloops. With “Override Scripted Tracks” in SoundSwitch (“Override Scripted” on the Control One), Autoloops run anyway.
- To see the show with the music without SoundSwitch, use live mode.
Questions
Do I have to assign anything in SoundSwitch?
No. The song is already linked, otherwise Droplit wouldn’t have offered it.
I have the song in Droplit but can’t find it in SoundSwitch.
Check that the copy is open and that the music file can be reached (e.g. external drive connected).
If something goes wrong
- After saving you see “… fixtures aren’t in the song script (SoundSwitch saved it before a patch change). Open the song once in SoundSwitch and save – then they’re all in.”: open the song in SoundSwitch, save, open another project in SoundSwitch, then save again in Droplit.
- “The script's beatgrid doesn't match this song”: the beatgrid was changed in SoundSwitch. Open the song in Droplit again and save once more.
- The show runs but old effects show up: SoundSwitch had the project open while you saved and overwrote the script. Open another project in SoundSwitch and save again in Droplit.
