Opening the project in SoundSwitch
After saving, your show is in the copy “<project Show-Designer”. To see it in SoundSwitch, open exactly that project there.
Step by step
- Open SoundSwitch.
- Choose “File” → “Open Project” in the menu.
- In the dialog, go to the folder that holds your projects (usually Music → SoundSwitch).
- Double-click the project folder Droplit named after saving, e.g. “My project Show-Designer.ssproj”. SoundSwitch loads it right away.
- If your project has several venues, pick the venue tab at the top that contains your lights. The “Getting started” assistant in Droplit tells you which one.
- Find the show where Droplit said when you saved:
- Autoloop: “Edit mode → Autoloops (“A” button, bottom right) → bank “…””.
- Static look: “Perform → Static Looks → Bank …, slot …”.
- Song show: load the song, the show plays along automatically.
Good to know
- You also see the project name at the top left of Droplit. In SoundSwitch’s open dialog it has the extension
.ssproj. - SoundSwitch always starts with the first venue of a project. If your lights are in another one, you only see something after switching tabs.
- When you switch projects, SoundSwitch writes once more to the project that was open before. So before you save in Droplit again, open another project in SoundSwitch. See Switching projects in SoundSwitch before saving.
- SoundSwitch only shows static look banks 2–4 from version 2.11.
Questions
I only see my old shows in SoundSwitch.
Then the original is open. Open the copy “… Show-Designer”.
Can I use the copy as my project on the night?
Yes. It is a complete SoundSwitch project. Check your shows calmly beforehand.
If something goes wrong
- In the open dialog, “Open” jumps up one folder instead of loading the project: double-click the
.ssprojfolder directly and make sure nothing else is in the file name field. - The lights are dark in SoundSwitch although the show is running: check the venue tab at the top.
- The show is missing: check that you opened the copy, and whether SoundSwitch had the project open while you saved. In that case SoundSwitch overwrote the new show. Open another project in SoundSwitch and save again in Droplit.
