Where your shows and settings are stored
Droplit stores things in different places: your shows in your SoundSwitch project, the designer's data in your account or on your Mac, and a few small things in your browser.
Good to know
In your SoundSwitch project (on your computer)
- Everything you save with “Save to SoundSwitch”: Autoloops, Static Looks and song shows, plus positions and gobo cues for your moving heads where needed.
- It's always saved to the copy “<project> Show-Designer”, never to the original.
- Projects and music stay on your computer. The web version doesn't upload them.
In your account (web version)
- The designer's show documents (mood, sliders, effects), rig profiles (roles, order, hidden fixtures), custom effects, 3D setups, presets, fixture profiles and your personal settings.
- This data is available on every computer you sign in on.
On your Mac
- You don't need an account for this. This data isn't synced with the web version.
In your browser
- The permission for your SoundSwitch folder, the project you opened last, some view settings, “Set up later” in the assistant and the draft of a report.
- This only applies to this browser on this computer.
Questions
Will I lose my shows if I clear my browser data?
No. Your shows are in your SoundSwitch project, the designer data is in your account. You only need to share the SoundSwitch folder again.
How much space does my account have?
50 MB, and a single file can be at most 4 MB. Shows, rig profiles and setups are small text files. Fixture profiles with gobo images take up the most space.
How do I get a copy of my account data?
Via “Download my data” (see Download my data).
If something goes wrong
- A change is missing on another computer: Check that you're signed in with the same account there and reload the page. If it's still missing, .
- After clearing your browser data the designer shows no projects: Share the SoundSwitch folder again (see Sharing your SoundSwitch folder).
