Set up together – the video coach
“Set up together” walks you through the first setup with short videos. Each step plays as a video first, then it’s your turn – in your own designer, with your project. The coach watches along, notices when a step is done, and shows you the way out by itself when something gets stuck.

Step by step
- Tap “Set up together”. A short video explains how it works. Tap “Let’s go”.
- Each stage starts as a video in the middle. “Yours” labels on the video show what the coach found in your project, for example how many lights.
- Then the video shrinks into the corner, and a pointer flies to the button you should tap now. Below it says “Your turn” with the next step.
- Do the step. The coach notices by itself and starts the next stage – you don’t need to confirm anything.
- For the test in SoundSwitch, tap “Take me along to SoundSwitch”. The coach then floats in a small window above SoundSwitch, with a checklist and the “How did it go?” answers.
- Once your first show is open in the Studio, the setup is done.
Good to know
- “I’ll do it” skips the running video. “Show again” replays the stage.
- “I’m stuck” shows the typical problems of this stage, each with a short video. “Ask us directly (with screenshot)” opens Help with a pre-filled question.
- For typical errors – for example a folder without projects or declined access – the coach plays a “detour” by itself.
- If you’re faster than the video, the coach jumps along. If you go back in the assistant, it goes with you.
- In the bar at the bottom: pause, “Back 5 seconds”, subtitles (DE/EN/Off), sound on/off and music on/off. The music plays muffled while you work and opens up when a step is done.
- If you reload the page, the coach asks “Continue with the coach?” and picks up where you left off.
- The floating window only exists in Chrome and Edge. Otherwise put SoundSwitch and the browser side by side.
- “Minimize” at the top right makes the coach small so it's out of your way. Tap the small coach to bring it back.
- “Skip” appears for stages you can leave out, for example when your lights are already set up.
- “Close coach” (the cross at the top right) asks once more: “Close” closes the coach, “Keep going” keeps it open. Your progress stays, and “Set up together” continues there later.
More courses
After setup, the coach is there for your first shows too: “Together: build an Autoloop”, “Together: build a Static Look” and “Together: build a song show”. Start them in the Overview at the top right with “Build it together (video)” – for Autoloops, Static Looks and Songs. The finale of “Set up together” offers the Autoloop course right away, then it continues with Static Look and song show. The videos are also in the help on their own: Build an Autoloop, Build a Static Look, Build a song show.
Questions
No. You click, the coach only shows. Saving works as always, into the copy “<project> Show-Designer”.
No. If you start it anyway, you can leave out the setup with “Skip” and go straight to your first show.
The videos show a sample project. What’s different in your project appears in the “Yours” labels, and the coach skips parts that don’t apply to you.
If something goes wrong
- No sound: check the speaker button in the coach’s bar and your computer’s volume.
- The floating window doesn’t open: your browser doesn’t support it. Put SoundSwitch and the browser side by side – the coach waits.
- The coach doesn’t notice a step: tap “I’m stuck” → “Ask us directly (with screenshot)”, then we can see exactly where it gets stuck.
