What you need
For Droplit you need a SoundSwitch project with your lights.
Good to know
For both versions
- SoundSwitch 2.10 or 2.11 and a project with your lights patched.
- Static Look banks 2 to 4 only exist once the project has been saved with SoundSwitch 2.11.
- For a song show, the song must have been opened and saved in SoundSwitch once. If the show should run to the real music, you also need the song's audio file.
Web version
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a Mac or Windows computer.
- A free account with a confirmed email address.
- An internet connection. At startup the browser loads the designer's core, which takes a little longer the first time.
Questions
Does it work in Safari or Firefox?
No. Neither browser can share a folder with a website, but Droplit needs access to your SoundSwitch folder.
Does it work on an iPad or phone?
No. Your SoundSwitch projects live on your computer, and folder sharing only exists in Chrome and Edge on a computer.
Does SoundSwitch have to run while I design shows?
No. Droplit reads the project files itself and shows the show in its own preview. You only need SoundSwitch for playback.
What about SoundSwitch updates?
Droplit is tested with SoundSwitch 2.10 and 2.11. After an update, test in a copy first, because the file format isn't officially documented.
If something goes wrong
- “This browser can't share folders – please use Chrome or Edge.”: Open the page in Chrome or Edge.
- Under Static Looks, banks 2 to 4 show “from 2.11”: Open the project once in SoundSwitch 2.11 and save it there.
