What is Droplit?
Droplit builds light shows for SoundSwitch without programming effect after effect. You pick a slot, a mood and colors. Droplit turns that into a show for exactly your lights and saves it to your SoundSwitch project.
Step by step
- Open your SoundSwitch project. Droplit finds your lights and shows all your Autoloops, Static Looks and songs.
- On the left, choose “Autoloops”, “Static Looks” or “Songs”, then a bank. The 32 slots of the bank appear on the right as pads.
- Tap a pad. A filled pad opens the existing show, a pad with “+” starts a new one.
- In the Studio, pick a mood and a color palette and adjust energy and movement. The preview plays right away.
- Tap “Save to SoundSwitch”. The show lands in exactly this slot, in a copy of your project.
Good to know
- Autoloop: runs along with any song, 8 to 128 bars long, up to 32 slots per bank. In SoundSwitch you find it under Edit mode → Autoloops (“A” button, bottom right) → bank.
- Static Look: a fixed moment such as the first dance, a speech or the cake. There are banks 1 to 4 with 32 slots each, banks 2 to 4 only from SoundSwitch 2.11. In SoundSwitch: Perform → Static Looks → bank and slot.
- Song show: a show for one specific song. It follows the calm parts, build-ups and drops. In SoundSwitch you load the song and the show plays along automatically.
- For single effects on a timeline there's Effect lanes, for the gig itself there's Live mode, and for your setup there's the 3D visualizer under “Fixtures & stage”.
- Effects your lights can't do are hidden. Droplit never controls spark machines or haze.
- Your original stays untouched. More under Your original stays untouched.
Questions
No. A mood, a color palette and two or three sliders give you a finished show. You only need Effect lanes if you want to place single effects yourself.
Yes. Autoloops, Static Looks and song scripts from your project open the way they are in SoundSwitch. Another color palette recolors them, a mood builds a new show.
No. It's an independent tool by hochzeitdj.nrw and not made by SoundSwitch or inMusic. The SoundSwitch file format isn't officially documented, so test new shows before using them live.
