Build a Static Look – video and coach

In the video you build a Static Look for the first dance: pick a slot, look mood, your lights in this look, Thru, moving heads, gobo and prism, fade in and out, saving, and how to find it in SoundSwitch. About 5 minutes.

Step by step

  1. Tap “Static Looks” on the left and a free slot. The look lands exactly there.
  2. Tap a look mood, for example “First dance”.
  3. Tap “Which lights” on the left, then a fixture group, and choose “On”, “Off” or “Thru”, plus brightness, color and strobe.
  4. Set groups to “Thru” where the running Autoloop should keep playing. In the same tool, “Work light” and “with Autoloop” show how it looks.
  5. For the moving heads: position, movement (shape, speed, size, direction), then gobo, rotation and prism.
  6. Use “Fade in and out” to set how softly the look comes and goes.
  7. Tap “Save” at the top right.

Good to know

  • Thru means: the look leaves these fixtures alone – in SoundSwitch, the running Autoloop keeps playing on them.
  • In SoundSwitch: open the copy → Perform → Static Looks → bank → tap the slot. Tap it again to turn it off.
  • Engine devices on their own only play bank 1.

Questions

I can't see the gobo in the preview.

If the moving heads' brightness is on Thru, they stay dark without an Autoloop. Choose “Work light” under “Which lights” or set the brightness. The 3D view shows it most accurately.
