Account: “Please sign in” or storage full
The web version stores your own data in your account, so it is there on every computer. Your SoundSwitch projects and your music always stay on your computer. Here is what can go wrong with signing in and storage.
Step by step
- If you open the Designer without being signed in, you get to the sign-in page. Sign in with your email and password – afterwards you get back to the page you were on.
- If your sign-in expires in the middle of your work, the page stays where it is. A red bar “You are no longer signed in …” appears at the bottom. Tap “Sign in (new tab)”, sign in there and come back to the first tab. The Designer then saves whatever was pending by itself.
- If saving to your account fails for another reason, the bar tells you why. Keep the page open and tap “Try again” once the problem is solved.
Good to know
- Stored in your account: the remembered designer states of your shows, your rig settings, custom effects, 3D setups, presets, fixture profiles and evening run sheets.
- Not stored in your account: your SoundSwitch projects, the shows inside them, and your music.
- A single file in the account may be 4 MB at most. Storage per account is limited.
- Under “My account” → “Download my data” you get a copy of all data in your account.
- As long as something is not yet saved to your account, the browser asks before you close the page.
If something goes wrong
- “You are no longer signed in – your latest changes are not saved to your account yet …”: your sign-in has expired. Tap “Sign in (new tab)”, sign in and come back. Nothing gets lost as long as the first tab stays open.
- “Please sign in” or “Not signed in”: your sign-in has expired or you signed out. Sign in again.
- “Email or password is incorrect”: check the spelling. “Forgot password?” sends you a reset link.
- “Please confirm your email address first (link in the email)”: click the link in the confirmation email. Check your spam folder too.
- “This account is blocked”: write to us via “Help” → “Ask a question”.
- “Saving to your account failed: Your account storage is full …”: delete custom effects, presets or fixture profiles you no longer need and tap “Try again” in the bar. If that doesn’t help, contact us.
- “Your account did not accept these files (larger than 4 MB or invalid name): …”: these files only stay in the browser until you reload. Everything else keeps being saved. Tell us what you were doing when it happened.
- “No connection to your account – are you offline?”: check your internet connection, then tap “Try again”.
- “Account: error …”: the server has a problem right now. Try again in a few minutes.
Still not working? With you can send us a screenshot. Redact your email address if it is visible.
More from “Troubleshooting”
- The folder can’t be sharedIn the web version, Droplit works directly with the folder that holds your SoundSwitch projects. To do that, you share this folder in the browser once. If that fails, it is almost always down to the browser or the wrong folder.free to read
- “Loading the Python core …” is stuckThe web version calculates your shows right in the browser. To do that, it loads a calculation core at startup. While that is running, the top shows “Loading the Python core …”. If it stays there, one of the following steps usually helps.free to read
- A project doesn’t appear in the listThe start page shows all SoundSwitch projects Droplit can find. If one is missing, it usually sits in a different folder or has never been saved in SoundSwitch with lights.free to read
- A song is missing from the listDroplit only shows songs for which SoundSwitch has already created a file in your project. That only happens once you open the song in SoundSwitch and save.free to read
- Song listed twice in SoundSwitch: move a showIf a song is in SoundSwitch twice, for example as “Song.wav” and “Song..wav”, a show can easily end up on the entry you never load at the gig. “Move show” copies it to the second entry with one click.free to read
