A song is missing from the list
Droplit only shows songs for which SoundSwitch has already created a file in your project. That only happens once you open the song in SoundSwitch and save.
Step by step
- Check at the top of Droplit which project is open. Often it is the copy “… Show-Designer”.
- Open exactly this project in SoundSwitch and load the song into the player.
- In Edit mode, place any effect on the song’s timeline.
- Save, then briefly open another project in SoundSwitch. Only then does SoundSwitch write the song list.
- Tap the project at the top of Droplit and open it again. In the web version, reload the page. The song shows up in the list.
Good to know
- If a song is in SoundSwitch twice, for example as “Song.wav” and “Song..wav”, the entry without a show isn’t in the list. See Song listed twice in SoundSwitch.
- “Search my music library” shows all songs from your SoundSwitch library that aren’t linked yet. They are marked “open in SoundSwitch”.
- Songs you only opened in the original after the copy was created are unknown to the copy. Open them in the copy.
- “Music not found” means: the song is linked, but the music file can’t be reached, e.g. because the external drive is missing. You can still build the show; it then follows a typical song structure.
- In the web version you pick the music file for the analysis yourself.
If something goes wrong
- “No prepared song matches your search.”: try a shorter search or link the song as above.
- “Nothing found – or the song is already linked and in the list.” in the library search: the song is either already in the list or not in your SoundSwitch library.
- The show doesn’t follow the parts of your song but a typical structure: the music file couldn’t be reached or analyzed. Connect the drive with the music and open the song again. In the web version, share the folder or drive with your music once.

More from “Troubleshooting”
- The folder can’t be sharedIn the web version, Droplit works directly with the folder that holds your SoundSwitch projects. To do that, you share this folder in the browser once. If that fails, it is almost always down to the browser or the wrong folder.free to read
- “Loading the Python core …” is stuckThe web version calculates your shows right in the browser. To do that, it loads a calculation core at startup. While that is running, the top shows “Loading the Python core …”. If it stays there, one of the following steps usually helps.free to read
- A project doesn’t appear in the listThe start page shows all SoundSwitch projects Droplit can find. If one is missing, it usually sits in a different folder or has never been saved in SoundSwitch with lights.free to read
- Song listed twice in SoundSwitch: move a showIf a song is in SoundSwitch twice, for example as “Song.wav” and “Song..wav”, a show can easily end up on the entry you never load at the gig. “Move show” copies it to the second entry with one click.free to read
- Saving to SoundSwitch doesn’t work“Save to SoundSwitch” writes your show to the copy of your project. If that fails, Droplit usually tells you exactly why. Here are the most common messages and what you can do.free to read
