Locations: barn, ballroom, open air – or your real location
With locations, your setup looks like it's in a real hall: brick and roof truss in the barn, chandeliers in the ballroom, a starry sky in the garden. Light, gobos and the mirror ball land on real walls. Start with a template or rebuild your location from whatever you have: photos, a 360° image, a floor plan or a 3D scan. Everything can be combined.

Step by step
- Open “Location” on the left and click “Choose a location”. The picker opens next to the 3D view.
- Click a template, e.g. “Barn / farm estate” or “Ballroom / banquet hall”. The 3D view shows it right away. Like it? Click “Apply”, otherwise “Back”.
- Under “Make it real”, pick what you have of the location (see below).
- Fine-tune “Room & size”, “Ceiling”, “Walls, floor, ceiling”, “Windows & columns” and “Lights & decor”. Under “Guests”, “Estimate size” suggests a hall size from the guest count. All the details are in Fine-tune a location.
- Under “Look”, choose from “Realistic” to abstract: “Architectural model”, “Blueprint”, “Neon lines” or “Endless black”.
- “Save to My locations” keeps the location. You'll find it in every project under “Choose a location” → “My locations”.

- The workbench: setting up the visualizer with the toolbar on the leftThe visualizer has a new layout: instead of one long sidebar and lots of buttons at the top, there is a toolbar on the left with seven areas. Only one area is open at a time, and the 3D view stays large next to it. At the top you see which location and which setup are loaded, and the search gets you to any function in two seconds.Summary
- Opening and using the 3D visualizerThe 3D visualizer shows your lights on a virtual stage. You see what SoundSwitch or Droplit is sending to your fixtures right now, and you can rebuild your real setup.Summary
- Fixtures & stage in Droplit“Fixtures & stage” is the full 3D visualizer right inside Droplit. This is where you set up your stage and hide fixtures that your shows shouldn't use.Summary
- Choosing the source: SoundSwitch, Designer or test patternAt the top right of the 3D view you choose where the light values come from. You either watch live what SoundSwitch sends to your fixtures, or the preview from Droplit.Summary
