Duplicate fixtures (several fixtures on one DMX address)

Often several real fixtures share one DMX address, e.g. 32 uplights on 4 addresses, or two moving heads left and right of the DJ booth. “Duplicate” lets you show all of them in the visualizer, each copy with the same values as its original.

Copies share the same DMX address.
Copies share the same DMX address.

Step by step

  1. Click the fixture you have several of.
  2. In the “Duplicate” box, enter how many more fixtures share this address and click “Duplicate”.
  3. The copies are named “… · copy 1”, “… · copy 2” and so on. They appear right next to the fixture: on their own tripod or totem if the original stands on one, otherwise on the same truss or free next to it. Drag them into place in edit mode.
  4. Mirror moving heads: tick “Mirrored” before duplicating. The copy lands on the other side of the DJ booth with its pan inverted, so both heads move as mirror images, just like real fixtures with “Pan Reverse” set in their menu.
  5. For many fixtures at once: select them with ⇧ or ⌘ / Ctrl and set “Copies per fixture” on the right.
  6. To remove one, click the copy and choose “Remove this copy”, or lower the number next to “Copies” on the original.
