Editing the setup: the basics

In edit mode you place truss, stands and booth the way they stand at your gig and put the fixtures on them. The visualizer then shows your shows from exactly this setup.

Build mode shows the toolbar.
Build mode shows the toolbar.

Step by step

  1. Open “Gear” on the left. It has “Setup”, “Add” with the “Quick setup”, and the “Fixtures” list. Tables, risers and decor are under “Furniture & decor”, the room under “Location”, and aiming the moving heads under “Aim”.
  2. Choose the light in the toolbar:
    • “Work light”: a bright hall with a 1 m grid and a dance floor circle, fixtures off. You can see everything clearly.
    • “Show light”: the light show as during the event.
  3. Choose a viewpoint: “Front”, “Angled” or “Top”. Moving things is easiest from the top: You see the whole room, and beams and lanterns fade out.
  4. Grab a fixture or object with the mouse and drag it across the floor. Dragging empty space still orbits the camera.
Drag to move, use the ring to rotate.
  5. To rotate, click “Rotate handle” and drag the ring around the selected item. Or use the buttons under “Rotation” on the right.
  6. Click “Done” in the bar above the 3D view when everything is in place. This ends edit mode and closes the area.
