Beat and tempo: tap, BPM and the downbeat

Autoloops run to the beat. In live mode you set the tempo yourself, let the microphone listen or play a song from the project. This article covers setting it by hand.

Step by step

  1. Tap “TAP” at least twice along with the music (or press T). Droplit takes the average of your last taps. After a 2-second pause, counting starts over.
  2. Fine-tune: “−” and “+” change the tempo by 1 BPM, with ⇧ held by 0.1 BPM. On the keyboard use ↑ and ↓.
  3. A fixed value: tap the BPM number and type the tempo. 40 to 220 BPM are possible.
  4. Tap “1” (or press R) when the downbeat comes in the music. The Autoloop bars then start exactly there.
  5. The four dots show which beat of the bar you are on.
