Special moments for every song – ballads, key changes and club builds
We tested the special moments on 19 very different songs, from rock to schlager, EDM and wedding ballads, and refined them through the eyes of professional lighting designers. The lights now follow the structure of every song, not just rock.
- Ballads: Romantic, Chill and Elegant get their own arc. Warm light on the couple, the room opens up in the chorus, and the climax comes with white beams. No blackouts, no flash storms, a soft fade-out at the end.
- Key change: When the last chorus is sung higher (typical for schlager and big ballads), Show-Designer notices. A short breath, a full white flash, then a new color.
- Builds before the drop: Before a drop the light rises and the moving heads get faster, then the drop hits.
- Calm where there's groove: A steady beat is no longer a special moment. Flashes only come on real hits, and effect lights only flash where they play in the look.
- Clear structure: Verse, chorus and finale are clearly different in brightness. Repeated choruses are recognized more reliably. Every song gets its own moving head positions, all pointing forward to the audience.
- Slow songs at the right tempo: If the beatgrid counts double (a ballad at 126 instead of 63 BPM), Show-Designer works at the right tempo by itself.
- Drops that carry: After a build or pre-chorus the whole chorus pulses above the run-up and keeps rising every 8 bars. The finale is the brightest part. In rock, 2 and 4 hit hardest.
- Light follows the volume: When the music gets louder, it gets brighter. Long stretches of the same part get something new every few bars.
- Clean endings: The last hit flashes at full, then the light fades with the music. In the silence it's off. After the finale nothing collapses.
